La Paeria organizes activities at the Cervera cemetery, Tuesday 1 November, with the aim of making the visit to the site more pleasant: musical performances, workshops for children and flower sales service.
The musical performances will be performed by students and teachers of the Conservatory - Cervera Municipal School of Music and singing with the Lacetània Choir.
The Service de Suport al Dol de Ponent organization will have an information point at the entrance to the cemetery, where he will organize craft workshops for children.
The service of selling flowers, at the entrance to the venue, will be open in the morning of the days 30 of October i 1 November.
On the other band, this time the Town Council extends the opening hours of the cemetery. Of the 22 October to 3 November is open 9 a 19 hours, uninterruptedly.

Violist Ashan Pillai and pianist Juan Carlos Cornelles will perform, Saturday 15 of October at the Municipal Auditorium, within the XXXV cycle of autumn concerts. They will do it with the program “In rememberence”, which aims to honor two great composers who died recently, el català Jordi Cervelló i l’espanyol Anton García Abril.
In this way we will be able to hear a first part made up of Hispanic works, with the Sonata no.3 in G major by Felipe de los Ríos, continuing with the Three Thoughts by Jordi Cervelló, he Fun i Piece for viola and piano by Anton Garcia Abril and closing with l’Scene Andalouse by Joaquin Turina.
The second part will be made up of universal works of great charisma such as Sonata Op. 120 no.2 from Brahms ol’Adagio i allegro Robert Schumann.
Violist Ashan Pillai completed his musical studies at the Merchant Taylors School in London, and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, the Banff Center for Arts of Ontario and the Juilliard School of New York.
He has performed as a soloist under the direction of Christian Zacharias, Eiji Oue, Andrew Parrott, Christopher Hogwood… ha cabbage·worked with artists like Lynn Harrell and Zacharias, and in chamber ensembles such as the Kreutzer and Brodsky quartets.
Has been
viola co-soloist of the English Chamber Orchestra, viola soloist of the Barcelona and National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, viola of the quintet de corda Pinchas Zukerman and the Zukerman Chamber Players. He is a viola teacher at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (SMOOTH), from the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Liceu de Barcelona and the Alfonso X el Sabio University, a Madrid, among others. He is also well known in Cervera for also being a professor of the International Music Course at the Emili Pujol Chair.
For his part, Juan Carlos Cornelles performs an intense activity as a chamber music concertist which has led him to perform with outstanding instrumentalists and singers in concert halls in Spain, el Regne Unit, United States, Austria, Italy, Netherlands Portugal, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria and Slovenia, in stages as prominent as the Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, St. John Smith Square o St. Martin in the Fields de Londres.

The 25th Cycle "Get Passionate", the programming of performing arts and music organized by the Department of Culture of the Paeria de Cervera, presents proposals from different genres and for all audiences.
As in the previous edition, incorporates a musical show, which will be "The women of my life" with Elena Gadel and Marta Robles. This year, as a novelty, foresees a dance show, with the renowned choreographer Sol Picó. The program also includes the moving “Nua (Radiography of a disorder), by Ann Perelló and Andrea Ros; the successful drama "The Swallow", starring Emma Vilarasau and Dafnis Balduz; the comedy show "Per fi sol", with Carlos Sans (The Tricycle); and the human comedy "La pell fina", by Yago Alonso and Carme Marfà.

"El Llop" successfully opened the 25th theater cycle
theatrical season 2022-2023 started on sunday 25 September, for the Festa Major, with the representation of "The Wolf". The version of the classic "Terra Baixa", directed by Àngel Llàcer and Enric Cambray, was very well received by the public. He collected a total of 760 spectators in the Grand Theater of the Passion.

The program “Everything moves” dedicated to the old town of Cervera was broadcast live on Wednesday morning 28 September.
It had the participation of Josep Mas, bell ringer and president of the Association of Friends of Sant Magí, as the soul of the Sant Magí neighborhood; the Casa Dalmases Foundation, craft beer workshop, as a good work and gastronomic initiative; and Xavier Puig, director of the Vallès Symphony Orchestra and the Palau Chamber Choir, as Cervera's cultural ambassador.

Cervera is ready to celebrate the Festa Major in September, which this year regains full normality and returns to install·home to the marquee and attractions in the center of the city. Friday 23 on Monday 26 presents activities for all audiences.
The Festa Major starts on Friday, them 20 hours, with the recognition of two local entities and the proclamation.
The entities honored are the Segarra Excursionist Center and the Coll de les Savines Scout and Guide Group on the occasion of their fiftieth anniversary. The Municipal Corporation wants to recognize its trajectory and its commitment to sports activity and education in leisure, respectively.
The Pregó is in charge of the Center Obre Instructiu d'Union Republicana, in tribute to the popular mobilization that made October 1 in Cervera possible, on the 5th anniversary of the organization of the referendum.
In case of rain, this event will be moved to the church of Sant Domènec.
The concerts will take place in the marquee, that this year is installed·the one in Plaça Pius XII with the intention of bringing the festival back to the center of Cervera. The musical offer is varied and for all audiences, with DJ performances at the Festival of the Years 80 i 90, Friday; the Inversend Band groups, The Stomping Pony and Viper, Saturday; and the Costa Brava Orchestra, Monday. All the concerts are free.
The popular culture activities will take the streets again and will recover the usual spaces for the shows and dance shows.
The meeting of giants, which reaches its 40th edition, will make the route from Plaça del Sindicat to Plaça Major, where the dance show and the joint performance of all the gangs will take place.
In case of rain, the gigantic meeting will be moved to the multipurpose pavilion.
Later, at the corner of Santa Maria, there will be the extraordinary Carretillada de Cervera Carranquers in charge of the Devil's Ball of Cervera Carranquers.
The small Festa Major, which is held on Monday 26, will set up the festive elements in Plaça Universitat and the parade from Plaça Sant Miquel to Plaça Major, where the performances of the participating groups will take place. In case of rain, in Sant Domènec.
Besides, the Festa Major program includes children's entertainment activities, sports exhibitions, open doors at the Paeria building and the bell tower, the contest of sardanist gangs (main square, or Sant Domènec in case of rain), the castellera day (where the reading of the Proclamation and the presentation of the participating groups by the Carnival King will take place, or Sant Domènec in case of rain), theater, the closing fireworks display…
Regarding children's activities, if it rains, the Salats family concert "La Gran Festa" will change venue (from Carrer Guinedilda to the Auditorium) and the wooden games "Xics del Xurrac" (which will be set up under the porches of Plaça Major).

The 25th Cycle "Get Passionate", the programming of performing arts and music organized by the Department of Culture of the Paeria de Cervera, will offer seven shows between September 2022 and May 2023.
The Cycle presents proposals from different genres and for all audiences. As in the previous edition, incorporates a musical show, which will be "The women of my life" with Elena Gadel and Marta Robles.
This year, as a novelty, foresees a dance show, with the renowned choreographer Sol Picó.
The program also includes the successful version of "Terra Baixa", "The wolf", directed by Àngel Llàcer and Enric Cambray; the moving “Nua (Radiography of a disorder), by Anna Perelló and Andrea Ros; the successful drama "The Swallow", starring Emma Vilarasau and Dafnis Balduz; the comedy show "Per fi sol", with Carlos Sans (The Tricycle); and the human comedy "La pell fina", by Yago Alonso and Carme Marfà.
According to the Councilor for Culture, Mercè Carulla, "in this 25th edition we want to take a walk through this transversality of interpretation, with different genres and for all audiences". He emphasizes that "Cervera fulfills 25 years of stable theater programming, which has contributed to revitalizing local and regional culture".
