The renewed Christmas Market, who organized the Cervera Paeria on Saturday 9 December, it was a success, with the influx of many visitors from all over. This year, the Christmas market expanded the spaces and activities.

In Plaça Santa Anna there were games for children and face painting; on the main street, more 50 stalls of Christmas products and handicrafts and a display of four ancient trades (spinner, ferrer, fuster i corder); while an animal corral was set up in Plaça Major.

Regarding the activities, throughout the day, itinerant musical performances took place, by Gumbo Jazz Band and the Grallers Montserè de Cervera, and the visit of some Pastorets represented by Grepp Teatre. The Association of Merchants and Professionals of the Old Core organized a gymnasium for the family audience; Dalmatian House, a pairing of beer and chocolate; and tastings of Christmas broth were distributed at noon, and hot chocolate with waffle in the afternoon.

The chief paer, Jan Pomés; the president of the Regional Council of Segarra, Ramon Augé; and the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Fairs and Markets, Raimond Fusté, in the morning they visited the exhibitors, who were welcomed and thanked for their participation in the market.

They also inaugurated and visited the nativity scene, which is organized by the Associació de Pessebristes de Cervera at the church of Sant Joan. The exhibition is open daily 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 i 31 December, in hours 12 a 14 and 17 a 19 hours, and the days 26 December and 1, 5 i 6 January, from 17 a 19 hours.

 

From the Paeria de Cervera, the development of the Christmas Market is evaluated very positively, which brought many visitors to the old town, where there was a great atmosphere. We also want to thank all the organizations and businesses that have made it possible.
